Hiring a headmaster for a job of unknown scope.

How is it possible to interview and hire a headmaster to take on a job that is not defined?  How can you get the best person for the job if you do not know what the job is?  This for me gives me grave concerns about what is happening in the corridors of power, it is perhaps one of the clearest signs that the feeling expressed at the meeting this evening that it was "a done deal" a "fit up job" was true.  The entire process behind the hiring of this headmaster must be opened up to public scrutiny as a matter of urgency.

Given the uncertainty about the future of Tomlinscote school the only acceptable answer is that Mrs Z Johnson-Walker takes over the school as headmistress until the future of the merger is settled.

Comments please.

  1. The recruitment of a replacement executive principle gave us huge concern as well. Asking the masses is an after thought. I sincerley hope this can be exposed and our sneering friend from CC will be asked to review his position. The more I hear, the more this is raising my concerns.
Is there oil beneath the Kings site? This could explain a whole lot. How about a catchy slogan? TK lacks (any credibility)

  2. It appears the interviews for the new "executive principal" will take place this coming week, ie before the holidays and before it is even decided that an executive principal will be needed. Do the candidates even know what is happening and of the strength of public feeling. I have heard that the Vice-Principal, who is currently acting head of School (a person who knows not only Tomlinscote but also all the Surrey Heath secondary schools very well and would make the ideal Executive principal, should one be needed))and doing a fine job, is not even to be interviewed for this post, while outsiders, many of whom are from 11-16 schools and lack experience of 11-18 schools, are shortlisted. This seems ludicrous to ignore the candidate with the best experience for coping with the tasks ahead. Why is this?

  3. Apparently 2 of the 5 people to apply have dropped out.
