Parents

As parents our biggest issue is the education and safety of our children.  The proposals will involve massive change for our children at a critical point in their lives.  Taking two schools and amalgamating them is a very big undertaking and will involve lots of disruption over a number of years.  While any restructuring process is undertaken the transition period WILL see a fall in standards for all students.  It is likely that the effects of the restructure would take at best a couple of years maybe as many as 5.

A big concern would be the impact on the staff, teaching is a stressful enough profession anyway but the restructure would be something that some may wish to avoid.

The split site solution is of particular concern as it appears to be a very bad choice from an educational perspective.

Another item of concern to parents is how their children will get to school and the extra travel that will be required.  It has been suggested that bus provision is the solution but can we trust SurreyCC?
