With the great news that Kings International is now out of 'special measures', and a new head appointed (see latest CAM link), how soon can we expect the Kings official website to be "refreshed"?
Bearing in mind what has gone on behind the scenes with the merger, it would be nice to see Tony Ryles page (www.kings-international.co.uk/about.aspx) replaced asap with something that brings in a breath of fresh air - after all the recent acrimony around the merger. Perhaps you could offer your own services to get the ball rolling ;-)
Surely what is needed now, is for the website to better reflect a new start and future direction. So lets see it focus on: (i) providing a clear vision statement from the incumbent head (on her aims and goals), (ii) more actively publicising the Ofsted report and (iii) being more community inclusive. With regards to the latter, it might even be nice if the website reflected the contribution of parents, staff and the community in giving Kings International the chance of a fresh new start.
As far as the Ofsted report, I am sad to see that Tony Ryles was not gracious enough to mention on the Kings website all the efforts of the staff or children in achieving this dramatic turnaround (just mention of himself and Mr Cooksey).
Although I also wish Mr Ryles a well earned retirement, I cannot help feel that he will now always be remembered for his merger shenanigans with PJ. So sad to see him ending his career, on the low of having turned the majority of the community so against him, rather than with the high esteem he was previously held in.
