I have just read the Ofsted report with regards to his current school with interest. His school is only running at 'good'. Is Tomlinscote currently 'outstanding'. Will he be able to keep it outstanding or am I worrying unduly?
This information came from several independent sources in the school / political community - although interestingly enough NOT from anyone associated with Tomlinscote!
I work at Tomlinscote and this appointment is news to me!! In the instance that the source of this information is correct, I have viewed the Ofsted report of his current school and it would concern me that he is coming from a school which ok is rated as 'good,' but on closer inspection this grading is made up of 2 and 3's (good/satisfactory indicators). Tomlinscote is a mixture of 1 and 2's (outstanding/good)
When he spoke to the staff at a staff meeting I could of closed my eyes and I'd have been listening to Tony Ryles. Is he a mere 'YES' man? or does he have the balls to fight for the majority?
Shame that his appointment did not include a visit to the staff room or even a talk with ALL of the SLT!
ReplyDeleteHow do you know this, just out of interest?

ReplyDeleteTomlinscote's last OFSTED report deemed the school as 'Good' not outstanding, so you are worryingly unduly

ReplyDeleteI wonder how the school is doing now that a large number of the senior staff who worked so closely with the previous Head and Deputy have left ?
